Monteverde: Trapiche farm and forest canopy

Kristi: Nos encanta Monteverde!  We left Heredia after breakfast this morning and drove 4 hours to Monteverde - beautilful drive! Thanks to Mincho (our excellent driver), Justin, Profe Ale(xandra) and everyone at CPI - they are outstanding! Today, we visited and had lunch with a local Trapiche family on their finca where they grow and process their own coffee, chocolate and sugar.  Afterwards, most of the students and Dr. Herrera went ziplining (O.O) and the rest of us hiked a canopy sky walk (suspension bridges/trails). What an adventure!!  The students were introduced to their host families by CPI staff. They'll have dinner and meet/stay with them through tomorrow night and continue gathering photos and interviews of local tico culture.  Nos encanta Monteverde!  Tomorrow we have a class meeting at 8 a.m., town tour, a cloud forest hike, and cooking (and maybe dance) lessons.  Stay tuned for more updates and photos...!
